Pastor of Family Ministries

Plan:

Based on the prayerful recommendation of the elders, we will have a congregational vote to extend an official offer to Isaias Viñales to serve as our pastor of family ministries. This vote will conclude on 12/15.

Your Part:

During this time, please pray for the elders, the Viñales family, and the congregation to have continued wisdom, clarity, and guidance.
Fill out a secret ballot and place it in the giving box in the back of the auditorium.
Engage any of the elders or deacons with any questions you may have.

Common Questions:

What opportunities/needs prompt the desire to hire a pastor of family ministries?

This role seeks to address four main areas of need within Berean: Youth Abide, children’s ministries, music team, and discipleship within the school. Volunteers have helpfully served each of these areas for several years, but as God has expanded these spheres of influence, there is a growing need for someone who is dedicated full-time to coordination, leadership, and discipleship in these areas.

What exactly would the role of pastor of family ministries include?

God has given Isaias unique experience in each of these areas. If he comes to Berean, he will provide teaching, leadership, and discipleship in Youth Abide, oversight and coordination to children’s ministries, leading and administration for the music team, and reach out to minister to those within BCS.

Is this role essentially a “youth pastor” role?

Actually, a more common title for this role would be a next-generation pastor, including more than just teenagers.

However, we desire to emphasize that this role is not limited to any particular age group. It is a subtle but important distinction that this person will pastorally serve the entire body. The person who fills this role will be a pastor of Berean Bible Church who spends the bulk of his time and energy ministering to the next generation and equipping families to do the same.
